Thank you for stopping by scamemorial.org.
Scamemorial.org started being built in the summer of 2011 after a discussion on the SCA Yahoo! Group [EK South] brought up the fact that there is no *one* place that all members of the Society could go to in order to see who has passed before us in our quest to keep The Dream alive.
We created this memorial site because we believe we all need a place for people to pay tribute to the history of our Society and all those who have played a role in our shared adventure.
We've focused our efforts on creating a site with features which allow the memories and stories of all SCAdians to live on. As we tend to have a tradition of oral history throughout the Society and within many Kingdoms, we wanted to ensure our shared legacy and works do not get lost to our future.
We believe that this globally accessible permanent tribute can and will not only provide comfort to all those who have lost friends and family within the Society, but will also provide a venue through which the lives and works of friends and family can be forever shared with future generations within the Society -- and where they might thus, live on through the future history of the current Middle Ages.
SCAmemorial.org is committed to ensuring the human and financial resources needed to support a living tribute to those members of the Society who are no longer with us, as a resource for recording and sharing our past and fondly remembering and celebrating the legacies our friends and family.
SCAmemorial.org is a celebration of life and the unique and amazing contributions of those who help turn the dream of the current middle ages into a reality. We hope the features and capabilities of the site will provide all a venue for all to fondly remember and celebrate the lives of those memorialized.
No Ads Ever!
We know that every single memorial on our site is a sacred space that needs to be treated with the utmost respect and reverence. Consequently, we are committed to maintaining an advertisement-free venue for our memorial pages. Customer Service is a Priority

Why I’m with scamemorial.org
Greetings and warm salutations, one and all. I have been a member of the SCA since A.S. XVII (17), or 1982 C.E. and have met people from nearly every continent, with many being called friends over the time that I have been active in the Society. There are too many of those friends to name that have passed on over those years that I fear may become forgotten as the Society itself grows, expands and diversifies.
I feel that, as with any Society, it is imperative that we strive to remember our origins and history to the best of our ability, and this website is my way of assisting with that endeavor. Our traditions started from somewhere. We can document them here under each person who celebrated them, or created those traditions, if they are no longer here to share them with us.
The songs and stories of each Kingdom are the life blood of each history, and when they are about a specific person, here with us still, or waiting for us to see them again, should be captured and continued to be shared.
In time, I hope that this website will be a cornerstone of SCA History, and will be a resource for all to turn to not only in their time of need, but to give newcomers a place to meet those people who have led the way for them to enjoy The Dream we all share of the Society, and of the better aspects of the medieval ages.
In Service to the Society,
Lord Lorenz Greylever

Why I’m with scamemorial.org
Having spent more than half of my life actively serving the SCA - first in dance, then fencing, and finally in early modern medicine - I have met amazing people from all over the world. These amazing people have afforded me some amazing experiences that I never would have had without them. However, as it does, time has begun to slip by and is taking some of these friends along for an experience where I cannot follow. Sad though that is, they are remembered in song and story. No matter where we are, no matter what we do, these friends live on to us. SCA Memorial gives us a place to share those stories any time, day or night, alone or with friends and reminds us that although these friends have gone on, they have not been forgotten.
